The Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana, LAPAG, as part of efforts to build the capacity of lady pharmacists and empower women to diversify their skill set has completed the “Versatile Lady Pharmacist Project”, an initiative to equip pharmacists with basic Do-It-Yourself Skills.
The project saw hundreds of lady pharmacists gather at the head office of Ecobank Ghana Limited, whiles many others joined in virtually, to be exposed to basic skills in beads making, make-up artistry and hair revamp.
The peer training project was facilitated by Pharm. Dr. Nana Gyamfuah Acheampong, founder of Agudie by Nana, who trained participants in beads making. Pharm. Blessing Ngozi Onwuke facilitated training in hair revamping and Pharm. Akua Konadu Dapaah led the training in makeup artistry.
Blessing is the founder of Glam-in-inches, a one-stop shop for luxury hair extensions and premium hair services. Akua is a renowned make-up artist and the founder of beauty-beyond-brushes whereas Dr. Gyamfuah’s Agudie by Nana is making waves in the beads handicraft sector.
The LAPAG chairperson, Pharm. Lucia Addae who chaired the occasion iterated that learning DIY skills is not only fun and fulfilling, but it also saves you money and possibly gives you more options for retirement. She charged all lady Pharmacists to continually utilise every opportunity to learn new skills.
