On March 6, 2025, as Ghana celebrated its independence, the Western Regional Branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) paid tribute to veteran pharmacists who have shaped the profession.

Led by Regional Chairman Pharm (Dr.) Emmanuel Ziekah, a delegation visited retired pharmacists, presenting them with hampers filled with essential supplies. The visits were filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, and reflections on the evolution of pharmacy in Ghana.

A retired pharmacist used the opportunity to advise young professionals on the importance of early pension planning, underscoring the need for financial security in later years.

Speaking after the visits, Pharm (Dr.) Ziekah reaffirmed PSGH’s commitment to its elderly members, stating, “These are the giants on whose shoulders we stand. Recognizing their sacrifices is a duty we must uphold.”

The initiative highlighted the deep sense of community within the profession—one built not just on medicines, but on mentorship, compassion, and service.
