The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), Ashanti Region, successfully held its Last Quarter Meeting and Get-Together at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST, Kumasi. The meeting commenced at 6:05 pm with an opening prayer led by Pharm. Serwah Opoku-Mensah, setting the tone for an evening of reflection, engagement, and fellowship.

In his opening address, the Chairperson of PSGH Ashanti, Dr. (Pharm) Yaw Duah Boakye, welcomed members and highlighted key matters arising. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support members have shown the regional branch and encouraged even greater participation in the coming year to strengthen and energize the society.

The Immediate Past Chairperson, Prof. (Pharm) James Oppong-Kyekyeku, also took the floor to thank members for their continued commitment to PSGH Ashanti. He urged members to extend the same level of support to the new administration and proudly announced that four members from the Ashanti Region now serve on the Governing Board of the Society. He subsequently introduced the executives for the 2025–2027 administration:

Dr. (Pharm) Kofi Osei – Executive Member

Following his remarks, the financial report for the year 2025 was presented by the Immediate Past Treasurer, Dr. (Pharm) Yaw B. Duah, who is also the current Chairperson. He informed members of plans to seek support from members and corporate organizations to sponsor upcoming programmes and activities of the regional branch.

Fraternal messages were delivered by various interest and practice groups, including the Academic, Social, and Research Pharmacists’ Association, the Government and Hospital Pharmacists’ Association, and the Lady Pharmacists’ Association of Ghana. These messages were presented by Prof. (Pharm) Priscilla Kolibea Mante, Dr. (Pharm) Emmanuel John Oppong Mensah, and Prof. (Pharm) Miriam El-Boakye Gyasi, respectively.

Members were then allowed to ask questions and share their views on matters concerning PSGH Ashanti. Contributions made during this session were well-received and duly noted by the regional executives. Information on the Media Visibility Bootcamp, recently held in Accra, was shared by Dr. (Pharm) Paapa Ekwow Esoun Eshun. He announced that the next edition would be hosted in Kumasi and encouraged members—both young and experienced pharmacists—to participate, especially those interested in amplifying their voices, shaping public discourse, and meeting the communication demands of the modern age. The formal session was brought to a close with a closing prayer by Rev. Prof. (Pharm) Charles Ansah, after which members enjoyed an exciting time of dining, music, and dancing, marking a memorable end to the year. The Society extends special appreciation to Dr. (Pharm) Joseph Arthur, CEO of Kobjoe Pharmacy, for generously sponsoring drinks for the event.
