In a celebration of remarkable achievements and outstanding contributions to the pharmaceutical sector, Pharm. Lucia Addae, the Chairperson of the Lady Pharmacist Association of Ghana (LAPAG), has been bestowed with the prestigious Ghana Women of Excellence award. The recognition was presented during the 9th edition of the awards ceremony held at the Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra.

Organized by Top Brass Ghana, the event coincided with the global observance of International Women’s Day on March 8th. The Ghana Women of Excellence Awards Scheme was initiated by the erstwhile Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs in 2010, with the inaugural ceremony taking place on March 9th, 2011. Since then, the tradition has been faithfully upheld, marking subsequent editions in 2012, 2015, and annually since 2019.

Pharm. Lucia Addae’s  leadership roles, including Chairperson of LAPAG, Executive Secretary for PMAG, and her previous tenure as the Chairperson of the Greater Accra PSGH branch, and her sheer commitment to excellence, have all contributed to her illustrious journey. Over the years, Pharm. Her latest recognition adds another gleaming chapter to her remarkable leadership journey, inspiring women across Ghana and beyond to strive for excellence in their respective fields.

In an interview with the Apothecary news,, Pharm. Lucia expressed gratitude for the honor and dedicated the award to all women in the pharmaceutical sector, acknowledging their resilience and contributions to healthcare in Ghana. She emphasized the importance of empowering women in leadership roles and pledged to continue advocating for gender equality and advancement opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.
