The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology has conducted its 7th White coat ceremony for the Doctor of Pharmacy programme.

The event occurred on 24th February at the Evans Anform Auditorium of the University under the theme “The diverse roles of PharmD pharmacists in an evolving profession.

Giving the Keynote address, a former president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Pharm. Thomas Boateng Appiagyei admonished students to inculcate important values as hard work, honesty and humble apprenticeship. He also charged the students to look beyond the traditional practice areas and venture into other areas such as vaccinology, pharmacovigilance, Research and Development, Toxicology, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Medical Delegates, Pharma Businesses, Consortiums, Health informatics, Health economics, Statistics among others.

The occasion was attended by eminent personalities with pharma profession including the president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Pharm. Samuel Kow Donkoh, CEO of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Chief Pharmacist, Pharm. Rita Owusu Donkor, Director of Pharmacy, KNUST Hospital as well as representatives from the pharmacy Council and the Food and Drugs Authority.
