The chairperson of the Early Career Pharmaceutical Group of the PSGH (ECPG, formerly Young Pharmacists Group) was present at the lunch of the Community Pharmacy Week Celebration in Accra. As key stakeholders in community practice, the leader of the ECPG gave a goodwill message which is reproduced here.

As we mark the august occasion of the maiden Community Pharmacists week celebration, I stand here as the leader of all early career pharmacists to express my heart felt appreciation for the invitation extended to the ECPG.

CPPA, being the largest practice group of our society has always been a professional “home” for many early career pharmacists and as such plays a pivotal role in the  development of our members’ careers. Community Pharmacy practice has proved to be an invaluable training and employment avenue for our members helping to instil the values of ECPG which are: leadership, integrity, ownership and unity, in the professional lives of young pharmacists.

The dedication and selflessness exhibited in the practice of community pharmacy is commendable. We can only applaud and emulate the professionalism with which you avail yourselves as the first point of call for majority of societal health needs.

In spite of the various challenges our noble profession has faced, Community pharmacy practice has remained a beacon of support and hope. The resilience and adaptability of all community pharmacists is nothing short of inspiring. You have worked tirelessly to ensure that our community has access to medication and healthcare while remaining the largest employer of young pharmacists during these trying times. This has made community pharmacy practice an indispensable practice in our healthcare system and as such aligns with the vision of ECPG to project the practice of pharmacy as an indispensable profession in our healthcare system through young pharmacists.

As we convene for this Community Pharmacists week celebration, I am delighted to join hands with all the various stakeholders in the profession to celebrate all Pharmacists who practice in the community and to commend them for the various initiatives and support systems they have put in place for young pharmacists and all pharmacists.  You have set a precedent worth emulating and I extend my sincere gratitude for making us part of this glorious celebration. I wish you meaningful and fruitful deliberations.

Thank you for your invaluable contributions and support.

Long Live CPPA!!
