The LAPAG team at Kwahu
The Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana (LAPAG) has successfully held its 2026 Annual Reproductive Health Outreach in the Kwahu enclave of the Eastern Region, impacting over 400 young people through reproductive health education and community engagement activities.
Held during the Easter festivities on April 4, 2026, the outreach focused on raising awareness on teenage pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV and Hepatitis and responsible sexual behaviour among youth in Tafo, Bepong and Mpraeso.
In addition to the community outreach activities, participants had the opportunity to experience the natural and cultural attractions within the Kwahu enclave, including visits to Butuase Waterfall and Rock City Hotel. These experiences contributed to team bonding and enhanced the program’s overall impact.
In collaboration with Total Family Health Organisation, LAPAG engaged communities through interactive educational sessions and a football tournament in Tafo, promoting the ABC approach to sexual health and other key public health messages.
The outreach featured the participation and leadership of Prof. Mariam El Boakye-Gyasi, Dr. (Pharm) Fareeda Serwaa Brobbey, Dr. (Pharm) Priscilla Adjei and Dr. (Pharm) Keren Jennifer Essel.
LAPAG expressed appreciation to its sponsors and partners, including Dr. (Pharm) Naana Aboagye Asare, Total Family Health Organisation, Atlantic Lifesciences Limited and Unichem Ghana Limited, for supporting the successful implementation of the outreach.
The initiative continues to reflect LAPAG’s commitment to advancing public health advocacy, empowering communities and strengthening pharmacist-led healthcare interventions across Ghana.
