Accra, Ghana – The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) is making strides in equipping pharmacists with the skills to venture into small-scale manufacturing of both herbal and allopathic medicines. This initiative aligns with the PSGH’s broader vision to build capacity, create more job opportunities and improve access to medicines.

Through a comprehensive program combining pedagogy, mentorship, and apprenticeship, the PSGH aims to provide participants with hands-on experience in producing quality medicines. The training program empowers pharmacists with the technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and entrepreneurial skills necessary to establish and run their small-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing units.

Following the successful completion of the first edition last year, the Society is set to begin training a second cohort of over 250 pharmacists this week. With an increasing number of pharmacists showing interest in this initiative, the program is expected to continue making a significant impact on the pharmacy profession in Ghana.
