  1. Background

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), under the Country Innovation Platform, Ghana, with support from Grand Challenges Canada, is implementing a pilot project titled “Leveraging Private Sector Pharmacy to Improve Access to Maternal and Neonatal Healthcare and Medicines.” A core component of the project involves the establishment of a Revolving Medicines Fund (RMF) to enhance availability, affordability, and sustainable access to essential maternal and neonatal health (MNH) medicines in underserved communities in Ghana’s Upper East and Upper West regions.

To support this, PSGH invites eligible and qualified pharmaceutical wholesalers, importers, and suppliers to submit sealed tenders for the supply of selected essential MNH medicines, in accordance with WHO priority lists and Ghana’s essential medicines list.

  1. Scope of Tender

This procurement covers the supply and delivery of essential MNH medicines as detailed in the attached Excel file titled CIP PROJECT PRODUCT LIST

The medicines must meet the required quality, safety, efficacy, and packaging standards set by the FDA Ghana. All products must be registered or eligible for registration in Ghana.

  1. Eligibility Criteria

Interested bidders must meet the following criteria:

  1. Valid license or registration with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and/or Pharmacy Council for the supply of Pharmaceuticals
  2. Proven track record of supplying pharmaceuticals in Ghana over the last 3 years.
  3. Evidence of ability to supply within the delivery timeline.
  4. The capacity to provide adequate storage, transport, and distribution support where required.
  5. Submission of company profile, business registration, and valid tax clearance certificate.
  1. Tender Requirements

Tender documents should include:

  1. Cover letter expressing interest.
  2. Completed product list with unit prices (attached template).
  3. Valid business registration and relevant licenses.
  4. Delivery timelines and logistics capability.
  5. Quality assurance measures and warranties (where applicable).
  6. At least 2 references from previous similar supply contracts.

All prices should be quoted in Ghana Cedis (GHS) and should remain valid for at least 60 days from the closing date of the tender.

Tenders will be evaluated based on:

  1. Compliance with technical specifications
  2. Competitive pricing
  3. Delivery capacity and timelines
  4. Supplier’s experience and credibility
  5. Adherence to quality standards
