October 1, 2024 – The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) is proud to announce that its vice president, Pharm. Kwabena Asante Offei has been elected as the Regional Representative for West Africa and Vice President of the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA). Established in 1969, the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) is the professional body for national pharmacy associations in Commonwealth countries
Dual Role Appointment
Mr. Offei’s new roles highlights the confidence placed in his abilities to represent the interests of the region effectively. As the Regional Representative for West Africa, he will serve as a key figure in shaping the strategic direction of the CPA for the region, ensuring that the unique needs and challenges faced by pharmacists in West Africa are addressed at the global level.
In addition to this, his appointment as Vice President of CPA further emphasizes the trust placed in him by his colleagues and peers within the Commonwealth. His involvement will bring a fresh perspective and contributions to the CPA’s activities and proceedings, particularly within the Regional Assembly and the Council, the main governing body of the association.

The term of office for both positions is set to last for two years, beginning with the official announcement at the CPA’s Annual Council meeting on October 1st, 2024. In these roles, Mr. Offei will play a vital part in driving the CPA’s mission to support pharmacists across Commonwealth countries through advocacy, capacity building, and policy initiatives aimed at improving healthcare outcomes.
