The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) brought its 2025 Annual Conference in Cape Coast to a colorful close with the Traditional Dinner and Awards Night on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The African attire–themed event blended elegance, culture, and celebration, while also marking a historic transition in leadership.

The evening was highlighted by the handing over of the Standing Executive Committee (SEC) from the outgoing Samuel Kow Donkoh-led administration to a new team of leaders. Pharm. Paul Owusu Donkoh, PhD, was sworn in as the new President of the Society. He is joined by Pharm. Peter Gyamfi as Vice President, Pharm. Anna Naa Kwarley Quartey, PhD, as Honorary Treasurer, and Pharm. Lucia Addae as Elected Member. They succeed Pharm. Kwabena Offei Asante, Dr. (Pharm) Naana Aboagye Asare, and Dr. (Pharm) Richmond Adusa-Poku, respectively.

In his farewell address, outgoing President Samuel Kow Donkoh reflected on the achievements of his tenure and expressed gratitude to members for their support. The new President, Paul Owusu Donkoh, PhD, in his inaugural address, pledged to build on past successes while driving innovation, unity, and service to strengthen the role of pharmacists in advancing healthcare in Ghana.

Beyond the swearing-in, the evening brimmed with celebration. Guests, clad in colorful African wear, enjoyed fine dining, live music, and a lively raffle draw that saw Dr (Pharm) Robert Incoom, the Director of Pharmacy at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, win an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai, sponsored by LUEX Pharmaceuticals.

The Traditional Dinner capped off a week of vibrant discussions, learning, and camaraderie at the Oguaa25 Conference, fittingly described as “The First City Experience.” The night not only celebrated professional excellence but also reaffirmed PSGH’s collective mission while charting a fresh course under new leadership.
