Pharmacists are uniquely positioned to triage patients and provide advice on the quality and safety of natural health products (NHPs), according to a new insight board report published today by FIP. The international insight board, gathering community pharmacists, policy experts, educators and researchers, was held in August to discuss the various aspects of pharmacists’ involvement with NHPs. Topics included NHP selection, procurement and dispensing, patient counselling, and addressing the barriers and enablers that impact pharmacists’ engagement in the NHP domain.
